Out with the old, in with the new. Join me for a 2021 retrospective.
2021 was a huge year for Gaënö’, and its all thanks to a lot of great people. First, I’m grateful for all the artists who joined me on the show for its first year of syndication. A special Nya:wëh goes out to Joanne Shenandoah, Silver Wolf Band, PJ Vegas, Leanne Betasamosake Simpson, Innastate, Sebastian Gaskin, GR Gritt, Jayli Wolf, Ya Tseen, Leela Gilday, Nadjiwan, Mimi O’Bonsawin, Steven Rushingwind, Willie Dunn (son Lawrence), Qacung, Sihasin, Shelley Morningsong, Cody Blackbird, StenJoddi, Russell Wallace, Opliam, Kaeley Jade Mato Wayuhi, Bazille. Phyllis Sinclair, Indian City, Anyma, Digawolf.  We:so’ Nya:wëh to all of the amazing affiliates who’ve added Gaënö’ to its rotation of great content. I’m grateful for the tireless work of Native Voice One in providing a platform for indigenous voices and last but certainly not least, a huge thank you to you, the listener. As we toast 2021 and get ready for the new year, I compiled a playlist that highlights the rich diversity of sounds and ideas found across Turtle Island. 2021 was a monumental year for the indigenous arts and the only thing more exciting is the year ahead. Cheers!
